Linosa – 2023
For almost two months I lived on the island of Linosa, working for an environmental monitoring, I certainly could not miss the opportunity to take pictures and film on an island that has always fascinated me for its isolation that has determined the adaptation of several species, from the endemic herpetofauna to the largest colony of Cory’s shearwaters in Europe.
We had to monitor the passage of birds during the spring migration, I had given up on this taxa after an accident a few years ago, I could not miss this opportunity, I asked a dear friend to lend me a telephoto lens in the hope of bringing home some beautiful shots, I fell in love with it.
The island always records very rare encounters and an excellent diversity, unfortunately of the legendary numbers of animals that flew over the island in those periods, only the memories of the oldest on the island and the numbers recorded in recent times remain.

Piggiatura delle lenticchie –
Linosa 2023
During my “stay” for work in Linosa, I was hosted by Federico and his family, in the southernmost part of the island, where rural life is even more alive. One day Federico woke me up asking me if I wanted to document the pressing (harvest) of the lentils, it was 6 in the morning, when they began to collect the plants now left to dry in the sun, in the meantime a marsh harrier that had spent the night on the island was hunting a short distance from us. The day is very heartfelt for the whole family since lentils are a traditional product and much requested on the market, celebrating the harvest until the evening.
